Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
AyurRaksha is an educational portal for Ayurvedic plant knowledge. This policy explains what information the site handles, why, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run the portal — nothing more.
Information we collect
Only if you create an account or use an interactive feature do we store personal information. Browsing the public plant library, conditions and remedies requires no account and stores nothing about you.
- Account details — your name and email address when you register, so we can authenticate you and address you correctly.
- Content you create — your saved plant boards, questions you submit to experts, consultation bookings and intake notes you choose to share with a practitioner, and expert reviews you leave.
- Plant identification photos — images you upload to the AI identifier so the plant can be analysed; they are processed to answer your request and not used for any other purpose.
- Click events — when you follow a shopping link we record that an outbound click happened (which link, and from which page) so we can attribute referrals and keep recommendations useful.
- Usage analytics — anonymous events about how the site is used, only when you accept analytics cookies.
Cookies and how we use them
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect against abuse, and remember your consent choice — these are always on and cannot be switched off.
Analytics cookies (only with your permission) help us understand which pages help people most. Affiliate cookies relate to outbound shopping links: those links carry a referral tag, and any cookies set by the marketplace you land on are governed by that marketplace's own privacy policy.
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies when the banner appears, and change your choice anytime via 'Cookie settings' in the site footer.
Third parties we rely on
- Stripe — processes consultation and marketplace payments. Card details never touch our servers; see Stripe's privacy policy for how payment data is handled.
- Marketplaces and affiliate programs — Amazon, iHerb and similar retailers. Following a shopping link takes you to their site under their terms and privacy practices.
- AI services — the plant identifier and herbal assistant send your question or photo to an AI provider to generate a response. Don't include personal information in prompts you don't want processed.
Educational use and health disclaimer
Everything on AyurRaksha — plant profiles, traditional preparations, research summaries and expert answers — is provided for education and general wellness interest. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified practitioner before using any plant therapeutically, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or treating a child.
Disclaimer & Educational Notice
All information on AyurRaksha — including plant profiles, traditional preparations, classical references and research summaries — is provided for educational, historical and scientific research purposes only. This applies to every plant described on the portal, including botanicals whose compounds are legally restricted or controlled in some jurisdictions.
Nothing on this site promotes, encourages or facilitates the use, cultivation, preparation or consumption of any illegal or controlled substance. We do not provide medical advice, and no content here should be treated as a recommendation to use any plant therapeutically. Before exploring any traditional practice, research the legal framework that applies in your own jurisdiction and consult a qualified medical professional about risks, contraindications and your personal circumstances.
Your rights and choices
- Access and correction — you can review and update your profile details from your account settings page at any time.
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and personal data from the account settings page. This removes your profile, boards and personal content; some anonymised records such as past consultation history needed for practitioner record-keeping may be retained where required.
- Cookie choices — accept or reject non-essential cookies at any time via the footer's 'Cookie settings' link.
- Questions — contact us via the Contact page and we will respond as soon as we can.
Children
AyurRaksha is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how the site handles data, we will update this page and — where the change affects your choices — re-present the cookie banner so you can consent again.
